Marshall 18 Watt 1974X Combo

www.proguitarshop.com, Well, it's about time! The new hand wired Marshall 1974x 18 Watt combo is easily the most impressive amp constructed by this legendary company in recent memory. I can't imagine why they waited so long. This is a preposterously cool amplifier. Marshall totally nailed it, beautifully reproducing all the things people loved about the original 1974 with a few practical modern updates, like standard mains power and speaker connections (rather than hardwired), an impedance selector switch, and easily accessible fuses. No sooner was our 1974x off the delivery truck than we were breaking open the box, getting those tubes warmed up and jonesing to plug in a Les Paul. We were immediately struck by how gorgeous this amp is to behold with the naked eye. It is the very definition of classy, with flawless tolex, vintage style grey grill cloth, and tasteful hardware appointments. Actually plugging in a guitar was a truly exhilarating experience. The clean tones, especially with our G&L Comanche, were glassy, rich and open, dare I say genuinely pretty. This little 18 Watt combo is probably the prettiest sounding Marshall amp of all time, and even has a great, tube-driven tremolo. The overdrive tones were actually kind of pretty as well, but in their own dirty, crunchy way.
